Compay Quinto is a Peruvian band founded in 1967 by a guitarist, vocalist, and bassist. They are known for playing Cuban music with electric guitars, which contributed to the development of a unique Peruvian electric guitar sound. This sound played a significant role in the emergence of Peruvian psychedelic cumbia and "chicha."
