Congo Natty, also known as Rebel MC, was born Michael West on 27 August 1964 in Islington, London. He began his career with the hit "Street Tuff" alongside Double Trouble and is widely recognized as a pioneer of Jungle music, a genre that represents a uniquely UK-born form of bass music. In the mid-90s, he converted to Rastafarianism and changed his name to Mikail Tafari in 2000. He is also the father of two children.
