Estrellas de Chocolate is a Cuban son conjunto founded in 1959 by conguero Félix "Chocolate" Alfonso. The original lineup included Niño Rivera on tres, Agustín Cabrera on vocals and guitar, David Palomares on piano, Armando Albertini "El Gorila" on trumpet, "Chino" León Lahera, Arístides Valmaseda, and Filiberto Hernández on vocals, Sergio de Cuba on double bass, and Pichi on bongo. Albertini and Palomares directed the band, while Rivera was responsible for the arrangements. The group's style was largely influenced by earlier conjuntos such as Arsenio Rodríguez's, Conjunto Chappottín, and Conjunto Casino.
