Conjunto Jovens Africanos is a band founded by Ze Orlando, a respected producer from São Tomé. Originally based in Lisbon, the group blends raw Funaná rhythms from the Cape Verdean island of Santiago with syncopated electric guitars, raucous synthesizers, relentless percussion, and captivating vocals. Their music has kept audiences dancing in lesser-known Krioulu nightclubs across major cities in Europe. First releasing music in 1984, their tracks "Nhu Jhon" and "Volta Pa Terra" exemplify the vibrant energy of modernized Funaná.
