Conjunto Jovens Africanos is a band founded by Ze Orlando, a respected producer from São Tomé. Originally formed and based in Lisbon, the group blends raw Funaná rhythms from the Cape Verdean island of Santiago with syncopated electric guitars, raucous synthesizers, relentless percussion, and captivating vocals. Their energetic performances have kept audiences dancing in lesser-known Krioulu nightclubs across major cities in Europe. The band first gained recognition in 1984 with their notable releases, "Nhu Jhon" and "Volta Pa Terra," which showcase the vibrant energy of modernized Funaná.
