Connie Clark is an artist often mistakenly believed to be a Northern Soul singer, but according to Kev Roberts' "Top 500 Northern Soul Floor Fillers" (2013), she is actually a long-forgotten opera singer. Her song "My Sugar Baby" has similarities to "Do I Love You." Additionally, it is noted that the Reverend Wilson recorded his own version of her work, which remains unreleased in the Motown vaults. Furthermore, according to "Motown: The Golden Years" (2001), Connie recorded music under her name in 1965.
