Conrad Schnitzler (17 March 1937 - 4 August 2011) was a significant figure in the German electronic music scene for thirty years. He studied in the mid-1960s and joined the burgeoning German rock band Tangerine Dream in the late sixties. Schnitzler contributed a unique, conceptual approach that helped elevate the band to legendary status, which is documented on their first album, "Electronic Meditation." After leaving Tangerine Dream, he formed the band Kluster with friends, where they recorded and released three albums. Schnitzler eventually left Kluster to pursue his solo career, during which he released hundreds of albums, cassettes, and CDs under his own name and on various labels worldwide. Kluster continued with just Roedelius and Moebius after Schnitzler's departure. Schnitzler passed away in 2011 due to stomach cancer, with his last work completed just four days before his death. He was the father of a child.
