Control of the Going is a Manchester-based band that emerged in July 2015, quickly gaining recognition as one of the city's best new acts. They have been featured as the Real Radio XS "Future Classic" band for July 2015 and have made multiple appearances on Amazing Radio and the renowned KEXP. Their debut single "She" was released through Wrong Way Records and premiered on KEXP in October 2016. Recently, Control of the Going signed with Wrong Way Records and is currently working on their debut album, set to be released in September 2017. Their sound is described as a blend of surreal psychedelia with rock and roll overtones, featuring a unique combination of three guitars and bass that creates a thrilling and challenging listening experience. Critics have noted their appeal to fans of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and have drawn comparisons to Glasgow's Helicon, highlighting their ability to evoke subtle shimmers and warmth even in darker subject matter.
