Cook E. Jarr (died January 15, 2025) was a native of Philadelphia who initially trained as an auto and aircraft mechanic before embarking on a career in show business as a singer and band frontman. He became a staple in Las Vegas, embodying the quintessential lounge performer that visitors expected to see from the 1980s through the 21st century. Cook E. Jarr made his Las Vegas debut in 1969 at Nero’s Nook in Caesars Palace, performing with his backup band, the Krums, on the days off of the house act, the Checkmates. However, his contract was bought out by Caesars, leading him to return to the East Coast, where he found success performing in Atlantic City throughout the 1970s.
