Cornell Campbell, born on November 23, 1945, in Kingston, Jamaica, began his music career in the early 1960s. In 1966, he formed a duet called The Bell Stars with George before teaming up with Aaron Davis to create The Sensations, where he recorded ska and rocksteady tracks for various labels. After leaving The Sensations, he briefly joined another group without recording with them and then formed his own band, which eventually became known as The Eternals. This group recorded for different labels before disbanding in 1971. From 1972 to 1978, Campbell pursued a solo career, recording for various labels, and later joined the next version of The Eternals. He is known for his falsetto singing style and made a significant impact as a lovers rock singer, although he also recorded several rasta hits in the mid-70s. Some of his notable tracks include "Stars" and "Queen of the Minstrels" (with The Eternals) for Studio One in the late 60s, "Natty Dread Inna Greenwich Village," "The Duke Of Earl," and "Gorgon" for different labels, as well as "Everyday Is Like A Holiday" and "Those Guys" (with The Sensations).
