Cortege is a French street punk band that was formed in 1996. After their first release, the band broke up temporarily in 1999 but reformed in 2002. The name "Cortege" translates roughly to "funeral procession." Upon their reformation, the band sought to expand beyond traditional punk sounds, incorporating influences from reggae and Oi! into their music. This evolution is evident in their 2003 release, "Young Soul Rebel," and their first full-length album released in 2004.
