Cosmic Overdose is a Swedish electronica band from Gothenburg, founded in 1978 by Dan Söderqvist and Karl Gasleben (Ingemar Ljungström). Initially a duo, the band expanded to a quintet in 1979 before reverting to a trio by the time they recorded their debut album, "Dada Koko." The lineup included founding members and The Rainmaker (Kjell Karlgren). Their first album featured a quirky electropunk sound with playful and nonsensical lyrics. Their second album, "4668," recorded in 1980 and released in 1981, showcased a darker and more restrained sound influenced by bands like Joy Division and Suicide. During a UK tour, the British concert arranger suggested a new name, leading the band to adopt "Twice A Man" after The Rainmaker's departure, and they continued under this new name with positive reviews.
