Najaaraq Vestbirk, known as Courtesy, is a DJ and label owner from Denmark, dedicated to her craft and achieving rare success solely as a DJ. Her passion for music has led her to spend countless hours exploring overlooked sections of record shops, while also promoting the latest sounds emerging from her hometown of Copenhagen. Her unique and thrilling sound blends fast, streamlined stompers with whip-crack electro and churning, wrongspeed EBM, all connected by smart and emotive melodies. Courtesy's diverse approach to DJing is reflected in her various musical projects over the past decade. She began her career in the mid-2000s as part of the teenage duo Ung Flugt and later founded Dunkel Radio, a podcast, blog, and radio show that became a leading platform for electronic music in Denmark. She also formed Apeiron Crew, collaborating with Mama Snake, Solid Blake, and Smokey for dynamic back-to-back sets across Europe. In partnership with Mama Snake, she launched Ectotherm, a record label that showcased Copenhagen’s innovative take on techno before ceasing operations after five EPs. Currently, she runs Kulør, a solo venture aimed at highlighting Danish talent while expanding into art, photography, and writing. Primarily a DJ, Courtesy gained recognition in 2018 with essential mixes for Dekmantel and Mixmag, along with standout performances at Nachtdigital, Dekmantel’s Boiler Room stage, and the closing set of the Marcel Dettmann-curated
