Craig Harris, born on September 10, 1953, in Hempstead, New York, is a jazz trombonist known for his collaborations with notable artists such as Sun Ra from 1976 to 1980 and Abdullah Ibrahim from 1979 to 1981. Throughout the 1980s, he worked with various avant-garde musicians, including David Murray, Henry Threadgill, Lester Bowie, Olu Dara, and Cecil Taylor, while also contributing to the emerging electro-funk scene. In addition to his collaborative work, Harris has released solo recordings and recorded with his own groups, Tailgater's Tales and Cold Sweat.
