Cristina was an American singer and writer, born on January 17, 1956, and passed away on March 31, 2020. She was a Harvard drop-out and the daughter of a French psychoanalyst and an American illustrator-novelist-playwright. Cristina met her husband while working as a freelance writer for the Village Voice; he was an heir to England's Mothercare retail empire. He encouraged her to record "Disco Clone," a song written by a former classmate from Harvard. The original recording was produced by a notable figure and was the first issue on the ZE label. A later version featured uncredited vocals from another artist. Cristina retired from her singing career shortly after the release of her second album and moved to Texas with her husband. Following their divorce in 1990, she returned to New York and contributed occasional book and film reviews to the Times Literary Supplement, as well as articles to Tatler and the London Literary Review.
