Croniamantal is a musical project from Portugal that began in 1985, known for generating obsessive ambiences with vigorous tones. In 1993, the project evolved with the addition of new members, bringing a greater versatility and human dimension to their sound. Their music was characterized by aggressive and obsessive constructions, heavily influenced by industrial culture. Although they never released an album, Croniamantal contributed to numerous compilations across Europe alongside notable groups such as Dive, Omala, Bourbonese Qualk, Clock DVA, Fini Fribe, Young Gods, Von Magnet, and Controlled Bleeding. Frustrated by the constant delays from labels regarding their first album, the founding members, Paulo Rodrigues and Fernando Cerqueira, eventually decided to cease activities. They later returned with a new project that features a more laidback, hypnotic, tribal, ritualistic, and ambient sound.
