Crown Heights Affair is a U.S. disco and funk group formed in New York City in the early 1970s. Originally called The Nue Day Express, they adopted their new name from a district in Brooklyn. The group initially consisted of members on bass, vocals, guitar, drums, trumpet, keyboards, saxophone, and vocals. Over time, there were personnel changes, including the replacement of the original bassist and vocalist. They were signed by a record label and released a self-titled album in 1974, achieving regional success with singles like "Super Rod" and "Leave The Kids Alone." After several lineup changes, brothers Bertram Charles Reid Jr. (tenor saxophone, vocals) and another member (trombone, vocals) joined the group, which then switched labels and recorded their second album. Under the production of notable writers and managers, Crown Heights Affair produced several hit R&B/pop singles from their first two albums, including "Dreaming A Dream," "Every Beat Of My Heart," "Foxy Lady," and "Dancin'." Their international breakthrough came with "Galaxy Of Love," which reached the UK Top 30, and "I'm Gonna Love You Forever," hitting the Top 50 in 1978.
