Crystal Fairy was a short-lived American alt-rock/stoner supergroup formed in 2016. The band consisted of two members from an earlier collaboration, along with a vocalist from another band and a bassist. They released two 7" singles and a self-titled CD/LP album in 2017 before disbanding shortly thereafter. The band's formation stemmed from previous collaborations, including a 2015 tour where the vocalist joined as a guest for covers. The group was initially known as Red Alpha Royale before adopting the name Crystal Fairy, which was inspired by a 2013 independent comedy film. Their debut 7" single was released in October 2016, and their self-titled album followed in February 2017, featuring a cover of "Possession." Despite their initial enthusiasm and commitment, including plans to focus on this collaboration, Crystal Fairy abruptly canceled a promised tour and disbanded, leaving a significant impact on its members.
