Cuarteto Latinoamericano, founded in Mexico in 1981, is a renowned string quartet dedicated to promoting Latin American music. Comprising brothers Saúl (violin I), Arón (violin II), and Álvaro Bitrán (cello), along with violist Javier Montiel, the ensemble has toured extensively across Europe, the Americas, Israel, China, Japan, and New Zealand. They have premiered over 100 works written for them and have an extensive discography of more than 70 recordings. Their contributions have earned them two Latin Grammy Awards for Best Classical Album in 2012 and 2016. From 1987 to 2007, they served as the quartet-in-residence at Carnegie Mellon University.
