Cummi Flu is the latest persona of Oliver Doerell, a multi-media illusionist and analogue-electronic pioneer from Brussels. Known for his earlier projects Dictaphone and SWOD, as well as his involvement with the Odd Orchestra of Raz Ohara, Doerell delves into downbeat electronics with Cummi Flu. His first recordings feature sound collage cut-ups created with homemade instruments, including self-tuned rubber bands and bass kalimba, resulting in tracks that explore otherworldly rhythms reminiscent of a swollen tide. Cummi Flu's unique sound evokes ancient feelings of estrangement, sanctuary, and self-exploration.
