Current 93 is a musical group led by David Tibet, featuring an ever-changing lineup of musicians, with Steven Stapleton and Andrew Liles being more permanent members who appear on several releases. The project began in 1982 and released a ritualistic single in 1984. Current 93 produced several LPs of noisy soundscapes until 1986, after which they shifted to a more "apocalyptic folk" sound characterized by acoustic guitars and atonal vocals. The group is known for constantly evolving their style with each record.
