Curtis Amy was an American clarinetist, flutist, and saxophonist born on October 11, 1929, in Houston, Texas. He learned to play the clarinet at a young age and later picked up the tenor saxophone during his time in the Army. In the mid-1950s, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he signed with a record label. Curtis Amy passed away on June 5, 2002, in Los Angeles at the age of 72.
