Curtis Hairston was born on October 10, 1961, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He began his singing career at the age of three when he performed in church, showcasing a natural talent that impressed his mother, Shirley H. Holloway. Hairston was known for his cool, satin-smooth delivery, which drew favorable comparisons to renowned artists such as Luther Vandross, Peabo Bryson, and the late Billy Eckstine. He became a prominent figure in the New York club scene. Tragically, Hairston passed away on January 18, 1996, at the age of 34 due to kidney failure related to diabetes.
