He is best known for his early 1960s hits, including "Pretty Little Angel Eyes," which reached US #7, and "Under the Moon of Love," which peaked at US #46. Lee began his recording career in 1959 and signed a recording contract in 1960. By late 1960, he had collaborated on songs with a friend who later became part of a successful songwriting team. However, after the influence of producer Phil Spector waned, Lee's hits diminished. In 1969, he transitioned to the construction industry, working alongside his father. Curtis Lee passed away from cancer on January 8, 2015, in Yuma, Arizona, at the age of 75.
