D-A-D, originally known as Disneyland After Dark, is a rock band that formed in the early 1980s in Copenhagen, Denmark. They released their first EP in 1985 and have been active for over forty years, with only one lineup change when Laust Sonne replaced drummer Peter Lundholm Jensen in 1999. The band achieved international recognition in 1989, prompting a name change to D.A.D. to avoid legal issues with the Walt Disney Company. In 1995, they altered their spelling to D:A:D for clarity as an abbreviation, and by 2000, they adopted the more internet-friendly name D-A-D.
