Dahmane El Harrachi, born Abderrahmane Amrani in 1926 in El-Biar, a district of Algiers, was a renowned singer and composer of Algerian chaabi music. He emigrated to France in 1949 and is best known for his iconic song "Ya Rayah," which addresses themes of exile and its painful consequences. Dahmane El Harrachi passed away in 1980 and remains one of the most popular figures in Algerian music.
