Dan Lacksman is a Belgian musician born in Werl, Germany, in 1950. He is a synthesizer devotee who has experienced three major stages in his career. Initially, he was a solo artist under the name Dan Lacksman Association, during which he recorded seven singles and one album, with the Moog organ as the core of his sound. In the late seventies, Lacksman became a sound engineer and member of the elektropop pioneers, contributing significantly to the genre. In the nineties, he gained prominence again as a producer for the French project Deep Forest, which blended African chants with modern technology. He produced their critically acclaimed and best-selling debut album over the course of a year but chose not to continue working with the group for subsequent recordings, stating his desire to focus more on the studio side of music. He later formed his own project called Pangea, inspired by the Greek concepts of unity and respect for technology, reflecting his belief in a unified world. As a producer, he also worked on the 1996 debut album of another project.
