Dandy Livingstone, born Robert Livingstone Thompson on December 14, 1943, in Kingston, Jamaica, is a Jamaican reggae musician and producer. He moved to the United Kingdom in the late 1950s and initially recorded under the name Sugar & Dandy, using double-tracked vocals to fulfill the requirement for a Jamaican vocal duo sought by London-based Carnival Records. In 1967, Dandy signed with Ska Beat Records and released his debut album, "Rocksteady with Dandy," in 1968. That same year, he transitioned into production and formed the duo Dandy & Audrey with Audrey Hall. He also produced the hit "Red Red Wine" with Tony Tribe. Later in 1968, Livingstone signed with Trojan Records and established his own Trojan subsidiary, Down Town Records.
