Daniel Goode is a clarinetist and composer born on January 24, 1936, in New York. He studied philosophy and music, receiving instruction from notable figures such as Henry Cowell, Otto Luening, Pauline Oliveros, and Kenneth Gaburo. Goode served as the director of the Electronic Music Studio at Rutgers University from 1971 to 1998. He became a member of Gamelan Son of Lion in 1976 and co-founded the Downtown Ensemble in 1983.
