Daniel Johnston (January 22, 1961 – September 11, 2019) was an American singer-songwriter and visual artist born in Sacramento, California. He gained recognition in Austin, Texas, particularly for his painting of the "Hi, How Are You" frog mural. He passed away in Waller, Texas.
