**Bio: Daniel Sofer** Daniel Sofer was a producer and keyboard player from the West Coast, known for his contributions to electronic music. He began his career at Oberheim Electronics, where he wrote manuals and recorded drum samples for the DMX drum machine. His early productions took place in electronic music studios, first at Paul Beaver's Parasound studio and later at the Mills College Tape Center in Northern California, where he studied with Robert Ashley and Terry Riley. Daniel experimented with electronic rock music, utilizing large modular Moogs and multi-track tape recorders. One of his pieces was featured in a Laserium laser light show, which later toured with Tangerine Dream. He worked for Laserium, programming several light shows, including one titled "Silk Aurora." During the late 1970s to early 1980s, he played with various electronic bands in Los Angeles, such as LEM and Radience, alongside notable new age synth musicians Steve Roach and Richard Burmer. His connection with Cletus Anderson from Saturn Records led to sessions using his Oberheim gear, where he became the musical mastermind behind Ice T's tracks "Coldest Rapp," "Scratch Motion," and Unknown DJ's first 12-inch releases, "Rhythm Rock Rap" and "100 Speakers."
