Daniel Vangarde, born Daniel Bangalter in 1947, is a French songwriter and producer known for his contributions to the music industry in the 1970s and 1980s. He co-wrote and produced several hit records, including "D.I.S.C.O.," "Cuba," "Aie A Mwana" (originally by Black Blood and later rerecorded by Bananarama), and worked with the Yamasuki Singers. Vangarde was married to ballet dancer, actress, and mosaic artist Thoreaux, with whom he had one son. After retiring from music, he relocated to Caraíva in Bahia, Brazil.
