Danielle Baldelli is a DJ and producer recognized as an innovator in the Italian disco scene. He developed a unique 'funky' and 'tribal' aesthetic by playing eclectic, esoteric records at drastically altered speeds, often slowed down, and sometimes incorporating drum machines and effects. Baldelli refers to his distinctive style as "Cosmic Sound." He began his DJ career in 1969 and served as the resident DJ at the Baia Degli Angeli discotheque from 1977 to 1978 and at Cosmic from 1979 to 1984, where he released numerous mixtapes. Although he remained relatively unknown outside of Italy for many years, he gained recognition following a surge of English-language press coverage in the latter half of the 2000s.
