Danny & The Juniors were formed in 1955 in Philadelphia, PA, originally under the name "The Juvenairs." They are best known for their hit song "At The Hop," which was written by Artie Singer, John Medora, and David White in 1957. The song was initially titled "Do The Bop," but after hearing it, Dick Clark suggested changing the name and the chorus to "Let's Go To The Hop," as he believed the dance fad of "The Bop" was fading. Following their performance on Clark's show American Bandstand, the song gained rapid popularity and reached the top of the US charts, where it remained for five weeks. The group disbanded in 1964 and included members Danny Rapp, Dave White, Frank Maffei, Joe Terranova, Bill Carlucci, Lennie Baker, Jimmy Testa, Johnny Petillo, and Bobby Love.
