Danny Barker was an American jazz guitarist, banjoist, and composer, born on January 13, 1909, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He passed away on March 13, 1994, in the same city. After playing in several local groups, he moved to New York in 1930 to perform in swing bands. His first recordings were with Dave Nelson's Harlem Hot Shots in 1931. During the mid-1940s, he became a highly sought-after rhythm musician, primarily collaborating with various artists. In 1965, he returned to New Orleans. He was married to a singer.
