Danny Gottlieb is an American jazz drummer born on April 18, 1953, in New York. He has performed with notable groups such as the Pat Metheny Group and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, as well as collaborating with renowned artists including Sting, David Byrne, Herbie Hancock, and Chick Corea. Over his career, he has appeared on more than 300 CDs. Currently, Gottlieb serves as an assistant professor of jazz studies at the University of North Florida for several weeks each year. He is sometimes credited as Dan Gottlieb or Daniel R Gottlieb.
