Danny Michaels is a vocalist known for his recordings on a New York label. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, where he began his career as a child star at the age of five, performing on the Jesse Rogers show on radio station WHB. Eventually, he moved west and led his band, the Rebel Playboys, as the house band at George's Roundup, a club in Long Beach. Michaels and his band gained popularity in the Los Angeles area, performing regularly at George's and appearing on KTLA-TV's country show, Cal's Corral, which was hosted by car salesman Cal Worthington.
