Darrow Fletcher is an American soul singer and musician born on January 23, 1951, in Inkster, Michigan. He began his singing career at the age of six and made his recording debut at just 14 years old. Fletcher's family moved to Chicago when he was three, and he was later adopted by his stepfather, Haygood, who recorded and released his music. Fletcher has charted three times as a singer and twice as a songwriter on the U.S. charts. His first hit, "The Pain Gets A Little Deeper," co-written with Ted Daniels, reached #89 overall and #23 on the R&B chart. In 1970, "I Think I'm Gonna Write A Song" peaked at #47 on the R&B chart, and in 1976, "We've Got To Get An Understanding," co-written with Joel Webster, hit #99.
