Das Synthetische Mischgewebe is a project that began in the early 1980s in Berlin, focusing on electronic, industrial, and avant-garde music through cassette releases. They released their first LP on the notable Madrid-based label Discos Esplendor Geometrico, followed by CD and vinyl releases on SFCR (France), as well as Pinch-A-Loaf and Povertech (USA). The duo has collaborated with various artists, including MSBR, Mnortham, Frans de Waard, Ios Smolders, Artificial Memory Trace, Thomasius, TBC, and The Oval Language. They have also contributed to numerous compilations, including a 2009 2CD on Suitcase (USA). Several of their earlier cassette works have been reissued as limited edition vinyl pressings by the German label Vinyl On Demand.
