Dashiell Hedayat, born Daniel Théron on June 5, 1947, was a French musician and author known for his work under various pseudonyms throughout his career. He paid tribute to both Dashiell Hammett, an American political activist and author, and Sadegh Hedayat, an Iranian writer, through his chosen name. Hedayat initially used this pseudonym for his first books before adopting the name Jack-Alain Léger in 1973, under which he achieved bestseller status with "Monsignore." In addition to his literary pursuits, Théron contributed to Rock & Folk magazine and later wrote under the names Eve Saint-Roch and Paul Small. He passed away at the age of 66 on July 17, 2013, under tragic circumstances.
