Dave James is an accomplished songwriter and producer with 16 years of experience in the music industry. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Lamont Dozier, Richard Perry, and Albert Hammond, spanning a diverse range of styles from R&B to indie pop. Beginning his career in the 1980s as a session drummer, percussionist, and saxophonist, Dave performed and toured with acts like Imagination, Sheena Easton, and Jackie Grahame. His breakthrough came with the co-writing and production of 'Looking Up' for Michelle Gayle, which became her debut hit single. This success led him to work with the popular band Take That, where he wrote 'If This Is Love' for their multi-platinum album 'Everything Changes' and co-produced the No. 1 hit 'Never Forget' from their follow-up album 'Nobody Else'. As his reputation grew, Dave collaborated with various artists in Britain, Europe, and the United States, including Vonda Shepard, Sonique, and Atomic Kitten. In recent years, he has worked with Sandi Thom, Natasha Bedingfield, and Jamie Scott. Currently, Dave continues to produce and develop new acts while also exploring his passion for writing production music for Audio Network.
