David Cassidy (born April 12, 1950, in New York City, New York, USA – died November 21, 2017, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA) was an American actor, singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is best known for his role as "Keith Partridge" in the television musical sitcom from 1970 to 1974. Renowned as one of pop culture's most celebrated teen idols, Cassidy enjoyed a successful pop career in the 1970s and had continued success, albeit to a lesser degree, in the 1980s and 1990s, including a top 5 album in the 2000s. He was the father of Katie Cassidy and had various family relationships, including being the son of and stepson of, as well as the half-brother of others.
