David Fenech is a composer, performer, and improviser based in France, active since the mid-nineties. His diverse body of work encompasses acoustic, electronic, tape, and digital media, including sound installations and film scores. As a soloist, he plays electric guitar and small instruments, often employing unique recording techniques. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous musicians. Born in July 1969, David received a guitar for his 10th birthday and has been creating music ever since. He founded a musical collective in Grenoble in 1991, which marked a shift in his musical direction. His first solo CD was released on the now-defunct Tout l’Univers label, described as a long movie for the ears with eight different clips. In late 2007, he released another album featuring many guest artists. David regularly performs with various musicians and formed a new duo in 2024. He has recorded concrete music at notable institutions such as La Muse en Circuit, COREAM, Ircam, Ina-GRM, and STEIM. Additionally, he has developed audio software for L-Acoustics. David leads a record label and has contributed articles and reviews to magazines like Revue et Corrigée and Chronicart. His audioblog attracts thousands of readers daily and was recognized as one of the 50 best blogs by Les Inrockuptibles in 2006.
