David McCallum was a Scottish actor, singer, musician, and songwriter, born on September 19, 1933, in Glasgow, Scotland. He passed away on September 25, 2023, at the age of 90 in New York, USA. The son of a concertmaster violinist, McCallum was best known for his role as Illya Kuryakin, a Russian secret agent, in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964-1968). In later years, he gained recognition for his portrayal of Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard, the medical examiner in the American television series NCIS. He also recorded music, releasing several albums for Capitol Records. McCallum was married from 1957 to 1967, during which time he had three sons, including a musician. He sang and wrote the music for the theme song "In The Garden Under The Tree," which was featured in the romantic comedy Three Bites of the Apple, in which he also starred in 1967.
