David Van Tiegham is an American composer, musician, percussionist, drummer, keyboardist, performance artist, video artist, actor, and tutor, born on April 21, 1955, in Washington, DC. Raised in New Jersey and educated in Manhattan, he has been residing in New York since. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous musicians and created music and sound designs for both Broadway and Off Broadway productions. David is married to an artist and has one daughter, Zoe Van Tieghem, who is an actress and writer. He is the son of an artist and designer and artist and educator Joan Ruth Stumpf.
