David Van Tieghem is an American composer, musician, percussionist, drummer, keyboardist, performance artist, video artist, actor, and tutor, born on April 21, 1955, in Washington, DC. Raised in New Jersey and educated in Manhattan, he has been living in New York since. Van Tieghem has collaborated with numerous musicians and created music and sound designs for Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. He is married to an artist and they have one daughter, Zoe Van Tieghem, who is an actress and writer. David is the son of an artist and designer and artist and educator Joan Ruth Stumpf.
