David Williams was an American rhythm guitarist, producer, and songwriter, born on November 21, 1950, in Newport News, Virginia. He passed away on March 6, 2009, in Hampton, Virginia. Throughout his career, he collaborated with numerous artists and was part of the backup band for various acts. Williams is well-known for his signature funky strumming, which famously anchors the end of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." He was inducted into the Guinness World Records for being the guitarist appearing on the most No. 1 hit records in the world. Alongside Bill Kinzi and A. Shapiro, he co-composed the catchy song "No Negatives of You," which was featured in the 1987 film Terminal Exposure, and he also sang lead on the track.
