Deacon Jones, born Melvyn Jones on December 12, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana, was an accomplished American organist, pianist, and trumpeter. He was a founding member of a musical group and was the brother of a drummer. Deacon Jones passed away on July 6, 2017, in Hollywood, California.
