Dead Skeletons is an Icelandic art band that originated in 2008 as part of an installation for a show at the Reykjavik Art Museum by artist Jón Sæmundur (Dead). In search of a spiritual battle hymn for the installation, Jón Sæmundur began collaborating with Henrik Björnsson (Singapore Sling), and later with Ryan Carlson and Aislinn Van Kriedt (Sunsplit, A4). Their initial song, "Dead Mantra," became an underground hit, leading to the release of their full-length LP, "Dead Magick," in 2011 through A Records. Although Dead Skeletons was created as an art band rather than a traditional touring band, they embarked on several tours, primarily in Europe and the USA. In 2013, they went on a tour called "Dead Comet," inspired by the passing of comet ISON that year. In 2016, the band released a "live" album recorded in Berlin in 2013, under the Fuzz Club label.
