Death Grips is an experimental multi-genre group from Sacramento, California, formed in 2010. The band consists of Stefan Burnett (aka MC Ride, vocals/lyrics), Zach Hill (drums/production/lyrics), and Andy Morin (keyboards/production/lyrics). They initially released their first mixtape on April 25, 2011, featuring their popular song "Guillotine." After the departure of members Liles and Oldham, the band, now a trio, signed to a label and released their debut studio album. They teased their second studio album through an ARG in August of the same year, but after being prevented from releasing it, they leaked it themselves, resulting in their dismissal from the label. In 2013, they established their own label and surprise-released an album on November 13. On June 8, 2014, they released the first half of an album and announced their disbanding on July 2. Despite this, the second half of the album leaked in March 2015 and was officially released later that month. They hinted at future music in October 2015 and released a new album in 2016, with their latest album coming out in 2018. Death Grips' music is characterized by a blend of punk rock, hip-hop, noise, industrial, and electronic elements.
